One of Iowa’s Small Treasures - Wapello, Iowa

Wapello is the site of the Iowa Indian Tribe and is named after their Chief Wapello. The City of Wapello was incorporated on July 15, 1856. The current population as of the 2000 census is 2124. The City’s water source comes from 4 wells. The City sewer system has a treatment facility at the southeast corner of the city.
In the year 2006, Wapello celebrated its 150th year!
